 PLD ANNOUNCES TWO VACANCIES – 

  1. PROGRAMME OFFICER   (PoSH, Sexual Violence, Women’s rights) 

The candidate must have demonstrated work experience on themes of sexual harassment at the workplace, sexual and gender-based violence; have a strong grasp of women’s rights debates in India, and must be fluent in both English and in Hindi.  This is a full time position based out of New Delhi. 

 ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  1. A law degree is essential; and a post graduate degree in law or in equivalent social sciences desirable, not essential. 
  2. Between 7 – 15 years of work experience in India in relation to women’s rights, particularly in relation to PoSH, PWDVA and broadly on women’s rights. 
  3. Must have demonstrated data gathering, research and writing skills.   
  4. Knowledge of laws and feminist debates relating to sexual harassment at the workplace, domestic violence and related SGBV laws.     
  5. Good written and oral communication skills in English and Hindi. 
  6. A self-starter with ability for team work, consultative processes and capacity to implement projects within time lines. 
  7. Familiarity with the non-profit sector desirable.  

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

  1. To implement projects related to sexual harassment at the workplace and SGBV, including through collaborations with coalitions and partners.  
  2. Create legal explainer and IEC materials, undertake research, comment on judgments and draft submissions. 
  3. To make presentations and represent PLD on diverse platforms.   

SALARY

Salary and benefits are comparable to the non-profit sector; and commensurate with experience and internal equity.

The candidate must have demonstrated work experience on some or all themes relating to adolescents and SRHR, child rights, age of consent, child marriage and POCSO; and a familiarity with policy debates on these concerns in India, and must be fluent in both English and in Hindi.  This is a full time position based out of New Delhi. 

 ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  1. A law degree is essential; and a post graduate degree in law or in equivalent social sciences desirable, not essential. 
  2. Between 7 – 15 years of work experience in India in relation to adolescent SRHR, POCSO, child marriage, child rights/ age of consent, the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the relevant Indian law. 
  3. Must have demonstrated experience in research, case law analysis and writing skills.   
  4. Good written and oral communication skills in English and Hindi. 
  5. A self-starter with ability for team work, consultative processes and capacity to implement projects within time lines. 
  6. Familiarity with the non-profit sector desirable.  

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

  1. To implement projects related to adolescent sexuality, the law and the Convention on the Rights of the Child.  
  2. To support the activities of National Coalition Advocating for Adolescent Concerns. 
  3. To create a curriculum on adolescents and the law; legal explainers, IEC materials, comment on judgments and draft submissions. 
  4. To make presentations and represent PLD on diverse platforms.
