PLD is looking for a Coordinator, for carrying out advocacy and outreach in relation to work on sexuality, criminalisation and the law. Familiarity with women’s rights debates, relating to sexuality and violence against women is necessary, as is legal training and fluency in Hindi and English.



The candidate must have a demonstrated commitment to women’s rights. Key qualifications include:

  • A law degree with at least 3 years of work experience in India in relation to women’s rights, gender and sexuality.
  • Knowledge of feminist debates and histories, grasp of sexual harassment at workplace, gender and sexuality issues.
  • Demonstrated research, writing and communication skills. A record of written/ published papers, reports, presentations.
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English and Hindi.
  • A team player with inter-personal skills, capacity to deliver within time lines.
  • A willingness to make a two year commitment to the organization.



Over the next two years, PLD seeks to build community of practice and consensus on issues relating to adolescent sexuality, in relation to intersections between early marriage, age of consent and the law. The coordinator: ‘advocacy and outreach’ will be responsible for messaging, documentation, mobilization and facilitating consultations across India and South Asia, to support this work.

The responsibilities involve reaching out to sector specific stakeholders, organizing consultations, facilitating discussions, collating evidence for communications and documentations, producing policy briefs as required, towards building community of practice and influencing policy responses.



Partners for Law in Development (PLD) – is a legal resource group working in the fields of social justice and women’s rights in India. Founded in 1998, the organization’s socio legal research, knowledge resources and publications, and related advocacy spans issues of access to justice, sexuality, violence and harassment, particularly in the context of adolescents, workplace cultures, domestic and intimate partner relations, and in relation to targeted violence within communities, especially, witch hunting.
