PLD has been a part of the preparation of India’s shadow report, organized by the NGOs to assist the CEDAW Committee to review India’s progress in implementing its obligations under CEDAW. PLD contributed substantially to the first shadow report for India’s initial review in 2000 as well as to the preparation of the second shadow report for India’s review in 2007. On both occasions PLD was part of the NGO team that participated in the review process. The first and second NGO shadow reports are available at:
